Ms McManus asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if the working group, established under the Partnership 2000 agreement, to review the methods of increasing gender equity in access to such programmes as community employment schemes has reported; if so, if its report has been published; if not, when the report is expected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs (Mr. D. Ahern): Partnership 2000 includes a commitment to the establishment, in the first year of the Partnership, of a working group to examine the question of gender equity in access to labour market opportunities. The group has now been established under the chairmanship of my Department and has commenced its work. It is expected that the group's report would be available by mid-1998.
