149. Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education and Science the current state of development in relation to the amalgamation of secondary schools (details supplied) in Tralee, County Kerry; and the overall timetable for the project. [15798/97]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): Architectural planning for the proposed amalgamation of the secondary schools in Tralee, County Kerry is proceeding and the school authorities have been requested to submit the developed sketch scheme for the project. When this has been approved by the Department, the project will proceed to stage four which is the full detail design. At this stage of architectural planning, it is not possible to say when construction will commence.
