103. Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the ongoing delay in starting works on the proposed [459] reconstruction and new extension to St. John's Hospital, Enniscorthy, County Wexford, as already approved. [15810/97]

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Dr. Moffatt): I understand that a planning brief for the redevelopment of St. John's Hospital, Enniscorthy, will shortly be submitted to my Department for approval.

The question of proceeding with the appointment of a design team and the remaining stages of the planning for this project will be considered in the light of the availability of capital funding in 1998.
