355. Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the current position on the proposed plans for the Moycullen sewerage scheme, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14574/97]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): A preliminary report for the upgrading of the Moycullen scheme, costing an estimated £ 3 million, is with my Department at present. Having regard to existing high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this scheme.
