402. Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Marine the persons appointed by him to boards under the aegis of his Department since January 1995; and the number of vacancies currently remaining to be filled or due to fall vacant in the near future. [12688/97]

Minister for the Marine (Mr. Barrett): The appointments which I have made to boards and agencies operating under the aegis of my Department since my appointment as Minister for the Marine in May 1995 are set out in the following tables. Table A lists the appointments made to existing boards and agencies. Table B details the appointments made to the boards of the eight new companies established for the major commercial ports, under the Harbours Act, 1996, with effect from 3 March 1997 (including appointments made on foot of nominations received from local authorities). The position of chairperson of Bord Iascaigh Mhara is vacant at present. There is also a vacancy for a ministerial nominee on the Northern Regional Fisheries Board. Table A
