[12927/97]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates): An application for subsidy towards the purchase price of milk quota under the 1995 subsidised milk quota restructuring scheme by the person named, who is a new entrant to milk production, was received in the Department.

Eligibility for subsidy towards the purchase of restructured quota under the 1995 restructuring scheme was determined on the basis of criteria set down by the EU Commission. These criteria were notified to all applicants. As the person named did not satisfy the criteria as a new entrant, his application was unsuccessful.
