Ahern asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the persons appointed by him to boards under the aegis of his Department [326] since January 1995; and the number of vacancies currently remaining to be filled or due to fall vacant in the near future. [12689/97] Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Spring) Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Spring) Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Spring): There are five boards-committees that come under the aegis of the Department of Foreign Affairs. They are: Agency for Personal Service Overseas Cultural Relations Committee Irish Aid Advisory Committee The National Committee for Development Education The Refugee Agency Agency for Personal Service Overseas (APSO) The 11 members on the board of APSO, are as follows: 1. Dr. Anthony Clare 2. Fr. Des McGillicuddy 3. Mr. Paul Cullen 4. Mr. Howard Dalzell 5. Mr. Martin Greene 6. Mr. Robin Hanan 7. Ms Mary Sweeney 8. Ms Anne Connolly 9. Ms June Carr 10. Ms Mairéad Hayes 11. Ms Maeve Healy There are no vacancies on the APSO board and none is anticipated to arise this year. Irish Aid Advisory Committee (IAAC) The 14 members of IAAC are as follows: 1. Prof. John Kelly 2. Ms Deirdre Farrell 3. Mr. Niall Toibin 4. Mr. Noel McDonagh 5. Mr. Paddy McGuckian 6. Mr. Michael O'Donnell 7. Mr. John O'Shea 8. Mr. Howard Dalzell 9. Mr. John Gogan 10. Mr. Sean Byrne 11. Ms Margaret Fitzgerald 327 [327] 12. Mr. Tony Fahey 13. Ms Gretchen Fitzgerald 14. Ms Sylda Langford Mr. Justin Kilcullen, Mr. Garret Sheehan, Ms Cherie McElwhain, Ms Mary Jennings and Ms Mary Sutton were also appointed or reappointed in the period from 1 January 1995 but they have since left the committee and were subsequently replaced. There are no vacancies at present on the IAAC and none are anticipated to arise until the term of the current committee expires on 31 October 1997. Ms Nadette Foley There are no vacancies at present on the board of the Refugee Agency and none is anticipated to arise until the term of the current board expires on 31 October 1997. 328 [328] Office of the Tánaiste The National Economic and Social Forum (NESF) is the only board which comes under the aegis of the Office of the Tánaiste. I appoint members to the NESF on the foot of nominations from political parties, the social partners and representatives of women, the unemployed, the disadvantaged, people with a disability, youth, the elderly and environmental interests.
