Written Answers - Travel Assistance.

74. Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Health if travel assistance will be given to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal who [1559] qualifies for free transport but due to being wheelchair-bound is not in a position to board buses; and if he will make a statement on the matter.[12116/97]

Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): The provision of travel assistance to a wheelchair user is a matter for consideration by the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, North-Western Health Board with a request that he examine this query and issue a direct reply to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
