157. Mr. Lenihan asked the Minister for Education the steps, if any, she has taken to initiate the development of a regional technical college on a site acquired for this purpose at Blanchardstown, Dublin 15; and the likely timescale for this development. [8699/97]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): My Department is at present engaged in preparing preliminary planning studies for the proposed new regional technical college at Blanchardstown.

A timescale for the development of the new regional technical college will not be known until such time as these preliminary planning stages, both educational and architectural, have been completed.
