Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the total number of staff in his ministerial offices and his Ministers' of State offices; if he will give a breakdown of the status of all staff, whether temporary civil servants, permanent or non-established; if he will give comparison figures for the years 1988, 1993, 1995 and 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Finance (Mr. Quinn): The following is the information requested by the Deputy:
* Includes two job-sharers.
 Minister of State Coveney (Department of Finance and Office of Public Works)
Note: While the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works has always been attached to the Department of Finance, the staff of the office were located exclusively in the Office of Public Works until 1995.
* The number of established civil servants in Minister of State Coveney's office in the Office of Public Works reduced from 6 to 2 in April.
Minister of State Doyle
Note: This office was established on the formation of the Fianna Fái/Labour Government in 1992.
