181. Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if the IDA has identified an industry for the new industrial estate in Kilkenny which was recently approved for acquisition; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5279/97]

Minister for Enterprise and Employment (Mr. R. Bruton): IDA Ireland has recently agreed to the purchase of a 50 acre industrial site in Kilkenny city with a view to developing a new modern business park. Contracts for the completion of this transaction are yet to be fowarded by the vendor. When the transaction has been completed, IDA Ireland will develop the site and buildings will be provided by the private sector. On completion both the park and the buildings will be vigorously promoted by IDA Ireland to overseas industry.
