Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the schools in Dublin 3, 5 and 9 which have indicated their need for additional funding for general maintenance and repairs; if she will give a breakdown of such schools; the additional moneys available in 1997 for such maintenance and repairs; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available in my Department and I cannot justify assigning scarce staff resources to its compilation. If the Deputy has a query in respect of a particular school, I will be happy to answer it. However, I would point out that general maintenance and repair of schools is a matter for school management and is funded from the capitation grant.
