131. Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment the amount allocated in each local authority in 1997 for housing; and the number of new starts authorised for each local authority. [5328/97]

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Ms McManus): Capital allocations for the 1997 local authority housing programmes will be notified to local authorities as soon as possible. A statement showing the number of housing starts authorised for each local authority has been placed in the Oireachtas Library.
