Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Health the reason the Motor Neurone Association was refused an allocation of funds in 1997. [4830/97] Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East) Michael Noonan Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association made an application for lottery funding in 1996. However, owing to the number of competing applications, I was unable to give a grant to the association but will give sympathetic consideration to the application it has made for funding in 1997.
