Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will publish the consultants report by Ernst and Young on the cost of providing a State organised veterinary inspection service in meat plants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4559/97] Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates) Ivan Yates Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates): The report in question was commissioned by my Department in the context of a settlement of legal proceedings taken by the meat industry over the collection of the meat inspection fees. Further issues, in relation to inspection fees, have now arisen which must be resolved between the beef industry and my Department. Discussions between the parties are in progress.
