Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

265. Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when grants will be paid under the flood damage relief scheme, relocation of farmyards; the number of farmers involved; the amount of money to be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4263/97]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates): My Department's assessment of the [265] 85 applications received under the relocation of farmyards scheme is nearing completion.

Those who are found to be eligible will be visited shortly so as to draw up a schedule of works and to establish the cost. Once this process has been completed the funding, £600,000, will be allocated to the eligible applicants and grants will be paid once the works have been completed to the agreed standard.
