Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Defence if he will give details of the forthcoming voluntary early retirement package; if the criteria and terms of the second voluntary early retirement tranche will be liable to change even after announcement as was the first package; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this volatile situation is upsetting to army personnel; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3443/97] Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett) Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett) Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett): This year's voluntary early retirement scheme will be launched on 12 February and, as was the case last year, a comprehensive booklet giving full details of the scheme will again be available. It is proposed to offer voluntary early retirement to 750 personnel.
