83. Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, the Government has to establish a working group on illegal and harmful use of the Internet. [2166/97]

Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen): As outlined in the Taoiseach's letter of 18 December last to the Deputy on this matter, essential preliminary [1690] work on the setting up of this group is being carried out by my Department. Draft terms of reference and a draft outline work programme will be discussed by Departmental representatives at a meeting to be held on 31 January. It is expected that the next meeting, which will include private sector representatives, will take place shortly after that.
