Other Questions. - Stag Hunting.

28. Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the action, if any, taken regarding the numerous stag hunts carried out by the Ward Union Hunt without the necessary licence. [1350/97]

Mr. Currie: As the Deputy will be aware, the issue of a deer hunting — stag hounds — licence is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht. In this case I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a number of complaints have been received in relation to the Ward Union Hunt club and they are currently under investigation.
