[178] 131. Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Health when a hepatitis C victim (details supplied) in County Galway will be reimbursed in respect of bills submitted to the Blood Transfusion Service Board on 4 September 1996. [20399/96]

Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): I understand that the Blood Transfusion Service Board has paid a claim which was submitted by the person in question on 4 September 1996, for expenses under the ex-gratia expenses scheme.

I understand that further claims by the person in question for expenses under the ex-gratia expenses scheme are under consideration by the Blood Transfusion Service Board at present.
