Dáil Éireann - Volume 470 - 30 October, 1996 Written Answers. - Dublin Port Privatisation. Mr. S. Brennan Mr. S. Brennan 277. Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for the Marine the plans, if any, he has to propose the privatisation of Dublin port; his views on the future of Dublin deep sea port; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19719/96] Minister for the Marine (Mr. Barrett) Minister for the Marine (Mr. Barrett) Minister for the Marine (Mr. Barrett): I have no plans to privatise Dublin Port. The strict demarcation between the deep sea sector of Dublin Port and the other areas of the port no longer exists. Trade passes to and from the deep sea terminals and the other terminals in line with competition and availability of ships and services. Trade in Dublin Port is buoyant and continues to increase and I see a very successful future for the port. Dáil Éireann 470 Written Answers. Dublin Port Privatisation. Questions 19961030
