Dáil Éireann - Volume 466 - 11 June, 1996 Written Answers. - Defence Force Regulation. Mr. M. Smith Mr. M. Smith 164. Mr. M. Smith asked the Minister for Defence the amendments, if any, he proposes to make to DFR S7 following his recent approval of the RDFRA constitution; if so, when these amendments will be introduced; and whether that constitution currently prevails over DFR S7 in areas of obvious conflict. [12037/96] Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett) Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett) Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett): The provisions of the Defence (Amendment) Act. 1990 and Regulations made thereunder take precedence over the terms of the constitutions of any of the associations established under the Act. Prior to my ratifying the constitution of the Reserve Defence Force Representative Association a number of amendments were made to the draft document to reflect the provisions of Defence Force Regulations S.7 and the actual administrative practices within the association itself. The terms of the RDFRA constitution are now in accordance with those of Defence Force Regulations S.7. Amendments to the regulation are not proposed. Dáil Éireann 466 Written Answers.
