27. Mr. Callely asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the developments, if any, of the all-party talks; his views on the progress that will be made; the timescale associated with these talks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12173/96]

Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Spring): As the Deputy will be aware, the all-party negotiations began yesterday, Monday 10 June, with opening statements by the Taoiseach and the British Prime Minister. The Government is engaged at present in efforts to advance the agenda for the opening plenary session, agreed between the two governments on 6 June. A detailed account of developments will be reported to the House in due course.
