150. Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment the total cost of ministerial foreign travel in 1995; if he will give a breakdown of this cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10300/96]

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): The total cost to my Department of ministerial foreign travel in 1995, excluding costs relating to officials and allowing for EU refunds, was £16,258, as follows: Minister — £14,281; Minister of State, Deputy McManus — £1,977.

Information in relation to visits abroad by Minister of State Allen on combined education/environment business is a matter for the Department of Education.
