Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen) Nora Owen
Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen): The industrial action being taken by certain staff of the Land Registry which, the Deputy will be aware, is part of a wider dispute affecting those grades throughout the Civil Service. Discussions have taken place with the staff panel, on which all Civil Service unions are represented, with a view to resolving the issues involved. These discussions are ongoing.
The Deputy may also be aware of the statement issued by the Minister for Finance and the Civil and Public Service Union recently in which it was agreed that negotiations with the union under the Programme for Competitiveness and Work pay agreement would take place with the assistance of a facilitator from the Labour Relations Commission.
