120. Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he intends to review the criteria for family income supplement entitlement in order to include community employment scheme workers. [6805/96]

Minister for Social Welfare (Proinsias De Rossa): Family income supplement as currently structured and targeted is not an appropriate mechanism for improving the income of community employment workers. The level of allowances payable to community employment workers is a matter for the Department of Enterprise and Employment.
