76. Miss Harney asked the Minister for Finance the members of the Monitoring Committee for the INTERREG II Community Initiative Programme; and the organisations or bodies they represent. [6306/96]

Minister for Finance (Mr. Quinn): The Department of Finance is the joint manager, with the Department of Finance and Personnel, Northern Ireland of the Ireland/Northern Ireland INTERREG programme 1994-1999. These two Departments jointly chair and service the programme's joint monitoring committee which meets twice a year (once in each jurisdiction) to monitor the progress of the programme.

Membership of the monitoring committee includes representatives of the relevant Commission directorates, the relevant line Departments, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Border regional authority and their counterparts in Northern Ireland.
