Minister for the Marine (Mr. Barrett): As I indicated to this House in answer to Question No. 627 on 23 January 1996, final decisions have yet to be made on the programme for protection works to be undertaken by the Department of the Marine this year.

The proposals submitted by all the various local authorities, including Meath County Council, are being considered for grant aid over the remaining years of the Operational Programme for Environmental Services 1994-99.
