Ryan asked the Minister for Defence the recycling schemes, if any, undertaken at Army Barracks throughout the country; and if there are no schemes, if he intends to start any such schemes. [17803/95] Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett) Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett) Minister for Defence (Mr. Barrett): The military authorities have a general policy in regard to waste disposal, of endeavouring where practicable to recover materials which may be recycled and of co-operation by Barrack Commanders with local agencies in the matter. A glass re-cycling scheme is in operation at a number of locations throughout the country and extension of the arrangements to other barracks and to include other materials such as paper, plastics and metal cans, is under consideration.
