Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the amount of reduction in public spending in his Department as a result of the Government decision announced by the Minister for Finance on 8 June 1995; the number of new posts established since that date in his Department and in agencies under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Equality and Law Reform (Mr. Taylor): Public spending in my Department in 1996 will be reduced in accordance with the Government decision of 6 June 1995.

No new posts have been established in my Department, or in agencies under the aegis of my Department, in the period since the decision was announced by the Minister for Finance.
