Written Answers. - Tax Refund Query.

84. Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Finance when the tax affairs of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be reviewed; and when he will receive the tax refund of which he has been notified. [10104/95]

Minister for Finance (Mr. Quinn): I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's tax affairs for 1989-90 to 1992-93 were reviewed in 1993 resulting in an overpayment of £193.66. This was repaid to him on 26 August, 1993. The taxpayer was again notified in writing of the position when he called to the tax office [2046] recently. There is no further refund due in respect of these years. A PAYE balancing statement issued on 9 May last for the year 1994/95 but no refund arose. A review for 1993/94 is being dealt with at present and the taxpayer will be notified of the outcome shortly.
