41. Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the overall cost of [2024] overtime payments in his Department and in the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department. [9408/95]

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin): The overall cost of overtime payments in my Department in 1994 was £417,515, or about 2.4 per cent of total payroll costs. The provision for 1995 is £400,000.

As overtime working in the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department is a matter for the bodies themselves, information regarding overtime costs is not available in my Department.
