Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to introduce the necessary legislation to create a semi-State company to manage the Land Registry and the Registry of Deeds. [9327/95] Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen) Nora Owen Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen): A Government decision to create a semi-State company to manage Land Registry and Registry of Deeds was taken on 27 September, 1990. My Department has commenced preparation for the drafting of the General Scheme of a Bill necessary for the proposed conversion of the Land Registry and the Registry of Deeds to semi-State status.
