144. Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Education the post-primary schools or groups of post-primary schools in County Mayo which sought the appointment of remedial teachers. [6031/95]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): Provision has been made for the allocation of additional remedial posts to post-primary schools with effect from the beginning of the 1995-96 school year.

Written requests for the allocation of ex-quota remedial posts have been received in respect of Sancta Maria College, Louisburgh and Ballyhaunis Community School.

The position of all post-primary schools, including these schools, will be considered when the posts are being allocated.
