Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East) Michael Noonan
Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Limerick East): My Department has made inquiries from each of the eight health boards and I understand that one person from the Eastern Health Board area, following medical and financial assessment, received grant assistance towards the cost of hospital services and expenses for gender realignment surgery in 1994. The total cost to the Eastern Health Board was £6,090, and the original sex of the applicant was male.
