Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Services.

89. Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health if he will increase the services of the speech therapist to Scoil Chiaráin, St. Canices Road, Glasnevin, in view of the fact that the school has only one part-time therapist who cannot give the necessary individual attention for pupils. [1099/95]

Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan Limerick East): The availability of speech therapy services in Scoil Chiaráin has increased from two days a week to four days a week over the past two years. I understand that the Eastern Health Board's senior speech therapist is meeting the Principal of Scoil Chiaráin this week to review the speech therapy needs of the school. If there is a recommendation for increased services [1364] arising from this meeting it will be considered as favourably as possible by the Eastern Health Board.
