95. Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite approval for the application from Dún Laoghaire Corporation for a grant from the allocation of EU Cohesion and Structural Funds to finance a scheme prepared by that corporation's engineering department and forwarded to his Department designed to provide surface water run-off capacity from Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, County Dublin, and upstream areas to counter the drainage situation arising from new developments in the area.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. M. Smith): A preliminary report for this scheme is currently under consideration in my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water services programme I am not in a position to indicate when a decision may be made.
