Ceisteanna — Questions Written Answers. - Health Payment.

37. Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who suffers from a medical condition will qualify for invalidity pension or disabled person's maintenance allowance; and if he will have the matter reviewed.

Minister for Health (Mr. Howlin): The determination of eligibility for payment of disabled persons maintenance allowance (DPMA) in any particular case is a matter for the health board concerned. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the Chief Executive Officer, Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Eligibility for invalidity pension would be a matter for the Department of Social Welfare.
