Mitchell asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement in relation to Parliamentary Question [1792] No. 258 of 29 March 1994, regarding a person who was allegedly sexually abused over a prolonged period; the current situation; if the Eastern Health Board has carried out an assessment; and if the person concerned is receiving the necessary treatment. Minister for Health (Mr. Howlin) Brendan Howlin Minister for Health (Mr. Howlin): As I indicated to the Deputy on 29 March in my reply to his earlier question about this case, the provision of assessment services in individual cases is a matter for the relevant health board. The Eastern Health Board has assigned a social worker to the case and the child's needs for services are currently being examined. I have asked the chief executive officer of the health board to expedite this examination and to let the Deputy know the outcome as quickly as possible. Dáil Éireann 441 Written Answers.
