31. Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the arrangements which exist to enable him to ensure compliance with equality principles in other Government Departments; and if he has satisfied himself with these arrangements.

Minister for Equality and Law Reform (Mr. Taylor): Compliance with equality principles is primarily a matter for each Minister in his or her own area. I ensure that the interests of women and of disadvantaged groups are taken into account, particularly in relation to proposals that come before Government.
