Written Answers. - Milk Cessation Scheme.

81. Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if any payments under the milk cessation scheme can be made in advance to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford, in view of his current cash flow difficulties.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. J. Walsh): The person named is a participant in an EU-funded milk quota buy-up scheme, compensation for which is payable in five annual instalments. It would not be appropriate to discriminate in favour of one participant in the scheme by making advance payments of these instalments to him.
