88. Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Social Welfare the cost of reducing employer's PRSI to 6 per cent on all incomes up to £12,000 with sliding scale relief up to £14,000 above which the 12.2 [1082] per cent rate would apply up to the current ceiling.

Minister for Social Welfare (Dr. Woods): It is estimated that the cost of reducing employers' PRSI to 6 per cent on incomes up to £12,000 with a sliding scale to £14,000 would be in the region of £240 million annually.
