Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he will give details of the various European Community initiatives that he has implemented in the period from 1989 to 1993 inclusive; the scope and extent of funding for each programme; if these programmes will be continued in the [551] future; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications (Mr. Cowen): Implementation of EC initiatives by my [552] Department is detailed in the following schedule. In regard to future programmes the EC Commission has recently published a consultative document on Community initiatives in the 1994-99 period and its proposals are at present under consideration.
