Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the total number enrolled in the Youthreach programmes; the location centres of the programme; if she has satisfied herself with the success of the programmes; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach) Niamh Bhreathnach 1987 Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): The information requested by the Deputy in regard to enrolments on Youthreach and the location of centres is set [1987] out in the following tabular statement. The data refers to the foundation places for the first year of Youthreach provided in the education sector by the vocational education committees, and excludes the remaining first year places and all of the progression year places provided by FÁS. 1988 [1988] The Youthreach programme was evaluated recently by the ESRI on behalf of the European Commission.
