Written Answers. - Structural Funds.

91. Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance the position regarding the report of the Dublin Sub-Regional Committee for the use of EC structural funds; if it has been forwarded to Brussels; and if any additions or deletions have been made to the report.

Minister for Finance (Mr. B. Ahern): In May 1992 I invited the seven Sub-Regional [601] Review Committees to prepare submissions setting out their views on the content and strategy of the National Plan for the next round of the Structural Funds. The guidelines given to each committee called for input on development strategies for each sub-region, the measures through which these strategies should be implemented, and the relative priority that should be given to each measure. These reports were received towards the end of last year and are being considered, along with other inputs from Government Departments, State agencies and the social partners, in the preparation of the National Plan. Once the National Plan has been completed and agreed by Government, it will be forwarded to the European Commission.
