53. Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Marine the amounts of finance made available for coastal erosion in each of the years from 1987 to 1993.

Minister for the Marine (Mr. Andrews): State funding for coast protection was transferred from the Office of Public Works to the Department of the Marine on 1 January 1990.

The amounts made available for coast protection for the years 1987 to 1993 are as follows:
