Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application for national lottery funding from the Blackrock College Rugby Football Club, County Dublin; the consideration, if any, she has given to the application; if she intends to make an allocation to the club; and, if so, when.

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): An application for financial assistance was received by my Department in 1989 from Blackrock College Rugby Club. As the capital grant scheme for the provision of recreational facilities was amalgamated in 1990 with the amenity grant scheme operated by the Department of the Environment and the Local Authorities, the application in question was forwarded to Dún Laoghaire Borough Council in January, 1990, for consideration under these revised arrangements.
