Written Answers. - Lucan (Dublin) Accident Black Spot.

90. Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Justice the number of accidents which have occurred at the junction of the slipway and the bridge at the Lucan exit from the Lucan by-pass, County Dublin; if this figure along with the number of near accidents at this spot shows that it has become an accident black spot; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Justice (Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn): I am informed by the Garda authorities that 11 traffic accidents have been recorded at the Lucan by-pass Celbridge exit slip road in the past four years. It is a matter for the local authority concerned as to whether a location should be designated as an accident black spot.
