Dáil Éireann - Volume 425 - 10 February, 1993

Written Answers. - St. Vincent's Hospital, Tipperary.

[1045] 458. Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health if he will restore St. Vincent's Hospital in Tipperary town; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Health (Mr. Howlin): The South-Eastern Health Board is responsible for the provision of health services in South Tipperary. I understand that the Board has no proposal to reopen St. Vincent's as an in-patient facility. The buildings which previously accommodated the district hospital have been adapted for use as a health centre with various community care services including a geriatric day care centre, a psychiatric day hospital/day centre, a sector headquarters for psychiatric services and out-patients clinics.
