402. Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if he will give details of his proposals to create 35,000 new jobs in tourism in view of the statement that he made at the opening of Holiday World 1993 in Dublin 4.

Minister for Tourism and Trade (Mr. McCreevy): I am currently examining proposals from a range of bodies, the industry and of course the Tourism Task Force for the further development of Irish tourism, having particular regard to assistance from the next round of EC Structural Funds. On completion of this examination, I will be preparing a new five year plan which will focus on achievement [1012] of the targets set out in the Programme for Government.
